Two wetland adjacent hotel projects that have been in the making for 20 years have finally received approval. Marriott hopes to break ground this summer on the two hotels – one “a 159-room Courtyard by Marriott” and other, “a six-story, 129-room Marriott Residence Inn.”
The hotels, which will be connected by a single story passage way, will also include a public seafront promenade, waterfront restaurant and outdoor dining terrace.
A 1.46-acre wetlands park with parking will also be developed at the same time.
Several different projects have been been proposed over the years, including timeshares, a 19 story hotel, and a public promenade. It appears the current iteration has garnered enough public support to finally become reality.
